Ballet Folklórico Añoranzas
They are a folkloric dance troupe based in Montevideo, formed in March 2015. The group was created out of a desire to explore, share, and promote Uruguayan folklore, and to keep tradition alive through dance.
Since their formation, they have performed at numerous festivals across Montevideo and throughout Uruguay, as well as at major events in Argentina and even embarking on their first intercontinental tour, performing at renowned festivals in Portugal and Spain.
As dedicated dancers and practitioners of traditional folkloric dance, they believe in the importance of preserving the cultural legacy passed down through generations. Their mission as folklorists is rooted in constant effort, education, and the transmission of this heritage to younger generations.
As Uruguayans, they are committed to deeply understanding and embracing their cultural identity, with the goal of sharing their roots and folklore both with neighboring countries and on the global stage.
