Robert K. Wittman

Robert K. Wittman joined the FBI in 1988 as a Special Agent specializing in cultural property crime. Over his 20-year career, he recovered more than $300 million in stolen art and artifacts and coauthored the FBI Cultural Property Investigative Manual. He also founded and led the FBI’s Art Crime Team, training law enforcement and museum professionals worldwide in recovering stolen treasures and securing high-value collections.

Honored by governments including Peru and Spain, as well as institutions like the Smithsonian, Wittman is recognized as a leading expert in cultural heritage protection. He is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir Priceless and The Devil's Diary, and has appeared on the History Channel’s Lost History.

Today he continues to help governments, museums, and private collectors investigate thefts, recover artifacts, and safeguard the world’s cultural legacy.
