Dr. Simon Poole
Dr Simon Poole MD is an internationally acclaimed medical doctor, motivational speaker, author and consultant in wellness, health in longevity, food culture, positive nutrition, and the Mediterranean and other heritage diets and lifestyles. He has been a primary care and public health physician and educator in Cambridge, England for more than 30 years, has taught and undertaken research with Cambridge University and is a founding member of the British and European Associations of Lifestyle Medicine.
Simon is a council member of The US True Health Initiative, an International Senior Collaborator with the Global Centre for Nutrition and Health in Cambridge and was awarded Fellowship of the British Medical Association for services to the profession in 2018 which included longstanding membership of Council of the Royal College of General Practitioners and Public Health Medicine Committee.
Simon is a recognized international authority and speaker on lifestyle medicine, chairing the Food Values Conference series at the Pontifical Academy of Science of The Vatican, and the author of award-winning books The Olive Oil Diet (2016, Hachette) and The Real Mediterranean Diet (2021, Cambridge Academic). More recently he has written 9 books for the Dummies series on various topics, making positive, enjoyable lifestryle choices striaghforward and achievable, making a total of 12 published books to date.
Simon has regularly published on the subject of nutrition, lifestyle and public health in scientific journals including Nutrition and Food Science and the International Journal of Clinical Practice. He has written articles for the Guardian, magazines such as Cook Vegetarian and Body Language and has presented on national and international radio and television, including Good Morning Washington, China TV and the BBC programme “Nadiya’s Family Favourites”.
